Tips When Upgrading Your PC
Nowadays, it’s very common to change computers or laptops every 2 years or so. The damage has been made ever so regular that people spendthousands not knowing that they could have saved hundreds more and get to keep their old PC, but still running better than ever. Here are some of the tips I’ve discovered on how to properly maintain your computer without the need of a professional or surpluscash.
1. Check the current condition. First of all, you need to assess the condition of your computer to determine which aspects you still need to upgrade or replace. In some cases, you may be surprised to find that all parts are still working quite well, so you can still use it without any problems for several months or years. Check how the computer runs and how immediatelyprograms and applications can be opened. You should also consider the speed when opening files and folders.
Next, check the outsideof the computer. Take note of scratches, dents and blemishes, most likely caused by placing other foreign objects over it like Letters openers and food. If you have spilled coffee, water or any other liquid over your laptop or keyboard in the past, you better have it checked to know if some linksare already blocked or damaged.
2. Making upgrades or replacements. There are only two things you can do if you find something that slows down your computer. Check your engraved business card holder and start looking for the right shops and sources to buy hardware and other possible upgradesin the hardware section. You may also want to invest in some software which can accelerate the speed and performance of the system. There are debuggers, performance enhancers and system cleaners that can get ridof other garbage and trash in your computer.
In some cases, you will need to replace the major parts, such as the motherboard, processor or hard drive. You also need to check the connections to ensure that data can be processed as quickly as possible. Some of the possibleupgrades include the addition of more memory or RAM, additional hard drive space or an extra unit as well as new DVD players or ROMs.
3. The software. You should also stay protected from other possible threats and damage that stem from the internet. There are new viruses being created daily so you should purchasea reliable antivirus program and anti-spyware program. Make sure you get updates regularly to stay protected. Also talk to other experts online and get more tips on how to keep your computer protected from online threats.
