how to clean my black shoes?

i have some 150$ dollar shoes that are fallens. and their black. and only 5 months old. and i still want to use em. how would i make them super clean without fading the colour or runing em? i heard you can use the dishwasher.. but i dont wanna wate 150 bucks if it doesnt work. anyone help?
