Does your retirement plan have you working until you die?
It’s amazing to me how many people avoid retirement planning like the plague. Does this sound familiar: “I can’t retire, I’ll have to work until I’m 90″? I hear it from people all the time and I too was one that thought the same way, but no more, I have a plan. But it took a mind shift on my part to get a plan. For me this happen when I was 48 and friend of mind decided to retire at 57 and did so with his home paid for and money in the bank to live on. He had a plan and shared with me the process he went through that allowed him to leave the workforce at 57 and live happily ever after.
What does the plan look like?
Well it was quite simple. He started planning serious retirement planning when he was in his late 40’s. He sat down with his wife and decided on what they wanted their life to be like in retirement and together they came up with a plan. So tell me something I don’t know. To be honest for most people its not about what they know or don’t know, it’s about action. It’s a fact that some day you will retire but will it be the way you want, when you want? Without a plan I doubt it you’ll be so lucky.
