ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center, Burlington, Vermont
If you’re planning a visit to Burlington this summer to spend time on Lake Champlain, don’t miss the opportunity to learn more about the Basin area. The ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center at the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain right on the waterfront offers a terrific opportunity for you to learn about the biology, ecology and geology of the Lake Champlain Basin.
The exhibits at ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center feature live animals and fun, interactive displays. You’ll see fish, turtles, reptiles, frogs and many other creatures in beautiful habitat exhibits. There is a fun Atlantic tide touch pool where you can interact with sea stars, horseshoe crabs, urchins and other animals. Live animal feedings and demonstrations are held daily, and you can also watch fascinating short film presentations during your visit.
The second floor of the ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center houses a Resource Room where you can learn even more about Lake Champlain. There are many books and reference materials available in the library, interactive exhibits, computers and staff on hand in the Resource Center to help you learn more about the Lake Champlain area.
