Rides and Shows at the Metro Richmond Zoo
Rides and performances are just two of the things that you can enjoy at the zoo. Anyone who enjoys rides will enjoy those available at the Metro Richmond Zoo, which includes the Safari Sky Ride, a Jungle Carousel, and car rides for kids. The Safari Sky Ride is a 15 minute ride from high above that provides a scenic view of the zoo, including all the animals and some of the different sites. Each rider must pay three dollars, although children under two are free. For a dollar less, two dollars, riders can enjoy the Jungle Carousel. The kid cars and the kid carousel are available for a minimal charge.
Throughout the year, the Metro Richmond Zoo presents a number of different shows and exhibits. The Miracle of Christmas is presented at the zoo with no admission or parking charges, and includes a live re-enactment of the Christmas story. This story is complete with animals from the zoo, has music from local churches and performing arts groups, and much more. Throughout the three days of presentation, there are three performances each night. Additionally, each pageant is approximately 20 minutes long and is a hit for anyone either living in the area or just visiting.
