Although some nurses love to work in different places some nurses, especially those who are married and have kids are not really so open about the idea of working in faraway places for extended periods of time.

Since travel nursing is a popular profession and there are many people who are in need of travel nurses, you will not really have much problem finding good travel nursing companies in your locality. If a local company is offering travel nursing positions that do not require you to work on the other side of the state, you better ask for more details about the job immediately. If you feel that this is the right travel nursing position for you, send your application letter to the company.

Insist On Local Assignments During The Job Interview

During the job interview, make sure to mention that you have kids at home and you prefer not to travel far from home. Be very specific with what you want from the job. If you prospective employer is not willing to grant your request for local assignments, then by all means say goodbye to him or her.
